JOB SUMMARY

Vaco is seeking a Senior .NET Software Engineer / SRE for a 6-month C2H opportunity located in Arlington, TX. The role focuses on building and extending tooling for SRE practices, including automation scripts, custom monitoring, CI/CD enhancements, and reliability tooling.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

This is a multi‑year digital transformation initiative aimed at modernizing financial services platforms to be more scalable, reliable, automated, and cloud‑native. The Engineer will develop and maintain tools that bridge development and SRE teams, focusing on design, architecture, and automation rather than traditional day‑to‑day firefighting.

IDEAL SENIOR CANDIDATE

Candidate should have a developer‑first mindset, end‑to‑end architecture ownership, and a problem‑solving approach. They must be able to discuss recent projects in detail, explaining design decisions, debugging strategies, and framework choices.

IDEAL LEAD CANDIDATE (5+ TEAM)

In addition to the responsibilities of a Senior Engineer, the Lead must demonstrate experience leading cross‑functional teams, driving solution design, and mentoring team members.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • .NET Core Development – C# / .NET Core experience building production‑grade applications, APIs, and services
  • Cloud Modernization – migrating legacy .NET applications to cloud‑native Azure architectures
  • Azure‑Native Application Development – designing, deploying, and supporting .NET applications directly in Azure
  • AKS / Containerization – containerizing .NET applications with Docker, managing deployments, services, and Helm charts in AKS
  • CI/CD & Azure Dev Ops – building YAML‑based pipelines for automated builds, testing, security scans, Docker image creation, and deployment to AKS or App Services
  • Azure Platform Services Integration – integrating Azure services such as App Services, Functions, Service Bus, Event Grid, Monitor, and Application Insights
  • IaC / Terraform – developing and managing Terraform infrastructure for AKS, VNETs, private endpoints, SQL Database, and storage
  • Identity & Security – implementing secure patterns using Managed Identities, Entra , RBAC, private endpoints, and VNET integration
  • Observability & SRE Practices – applying SRE principles with Application Insights, Log Analytics, alerting, and performance monitoring
  • Database Design & Optimization – working with Oracle, MS SQL Server, Cosmos

    DB, SQL scripting, schema design, query performance, and indexing
  • Problem Solving & Collaboration – leading root‑cause analysis, debugging, and collaborating within SRE and cross‑functional teams
PREFERRED (NOT REQUIRED)
  • Azure Governance & Best Practices – Azure Policy, Git Hub Copilot Context, and embedding SRE practices early in the lifecycle
  • Architecture Frameworks – familiarity with the Azure Well‑Architected Framework for reliability and operational excellence
  • Advanced AKS & Hybrid – experience with cluster autoscaling, service mesh, cost optimization, and Azure Arc scenarios
  • AI / Automation Enablement – driving adoption of AI‑powered tools such as Git Hub Copilot to improve developer productivity and code quality
