Job Summary

Under routine supervision, the Capacity Coordinator II coordinates a mid‑sized group of carriers and/or independently contracted drivers to ensure safe and timely freight service. The incumbent must work any shift—including day, night, and weekend—to meet operational needs.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain positive, professional, safe, and reliable relationships with carriers and independently contracted drivers to ensure seamless new carrier set‑up, minimize turnover, and maximize ongoing productivity.
  • Optimize operations and maximize profitability through an understanding of key performance indicators.
  • Create, maintain, and present customer‑specific reporting and financial analysis.
  • Manage inventory, assets, customer pools, and assignment of carriers to balance equipment in the market.
  • Perform administrative duties such as payroll, managing the Net‑Revenue budget, filing and documenting, resolving settlement issues, analyzing P&L statements, invoicing, and creating operational or financial reports.
  • Coordinate yard duties: checking and inspecting equipment, partnering with maintenance to schedule preventive maintenance, and resolving safety‑related mechanical issues.
  • Act as a liaison between carriers, customers, and company personnel to resolve service issues, routing and planning problems, mechanical and accessorial pay‑related issues, and other operational challenges.
  • Maintain the company’s safety culture by complying with external and internal regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Assign loads, plan, route, and monitor freight movement to provide safe, on‑time service and meet customer requirements.
  • Assist in training entry‑level and other team members to ensure compliance with standards and protocols.
  • Assist on special projects related to optimizing operations and maximizing profitability.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualification

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2–3 years of experience in transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, or equivalent military experience.
  • Ability to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends.

Preferred Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, or equivalent military experience.
Shift

Tues‑Sat 4:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Compensation

Starting pay is determined by skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications. The position may be eligible for an annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volume under the company’s bonus and incentive plans.

Education

Bachelor’s degrees:
Business Administration/Management, Supply Chain Management, Transportation Logistics. GED or High School required.
