Job SummaryUnder routine supervision, the Capacity Coordinator II coordinates a mid-sized group of carriers and/or independently contracted drivers. This position ensures safe and timely service through accurate planning, routing, monitoring, and delivery of freight and loads. The incumbent must be able to work on various shifts to satisfy scheduling demand, including day, night, and weekend shifts.
Key Responsibilities- Build and maintain positive, professional, safe, and reliable relationships with carriers and/or independently contracted drivers to ensure seamless carrier setup, minimize turnover, and maximize ongoing productivity.
- Optimize operations and maximize profitability through understanding key performance indicators.
- Create, maintain, and present customer-specific reporting and financial analysis.
- Manage inventory, assets, customer pools, and/or assignment of carriers and/or IC drivers to balance equipment in the market.
- Perform administrative duties such as payroll, management of the Net-Revenue budget, filing and documenting, resolving settlement issues, analyzing P&L statements, invoicing, and creating operational or financial reports.
- Coordinate yard duties such as checking/inspecting equipment, and partner with maintenance to ensure scheduled preventive maintenance and timely resolution of safety-related issues.
- Act as liaison between carriers/IC drivers, customers, and company personnel to resolve service issues, routing/planning, mechanical problems, and pay-related issues as they occur.
- Maintain the Company’s safety culture by complying with external and internal regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Assign loads and plan, route, and monitor freight movement to provide safe, on-time service and meet customer requirements; manage exceptions based on pickup/delivery schedules and other on-road factors.
- Assist in training entry-level and other team members to perform duties in accordance with standards and protocols.
- Assist on special projects related to optimizing operations and maximizing profitability.
- Minimum Qualification: High School Diploma/GED with 2-3 years of experience in transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, and/or equivalent military experience; ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed; and/or demonstration of the following skills and abilities:
- Strong professional communication skills applied internally and externally.
- Proven experience in establishing and maintaining healthy working relationships.
- Experience in fostering customer relationships through delivery of commitments, open communication, and ongoing feedback/improvement.
- Ability to process information with high accuracy and analyze situations to reach productive decisions.
- Experience with Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and travel to account/customer locations; adapt to a dynamic work environment and shifting priorities.
- Experience in holding people accountable and conducting difficult conversations; ability to perform in a stressful, high-pressure environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field; and 1-2 years of related experience.
Tuesday–Saturday, 4:00 AM–1:00 PM
Compensation and BenefitsThis position may be eligible for bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes, in accordance with company plans. Education and Work ExperienceEducation: Bachelors in Business Administration/Management;
Bachelors in Supply Chain Management;
Bachelors in Transportation/Logistics; GED;
High School (Required).
Work Experience: Business Administration, Customer Service/Account Management, Military, Transportation/Logistics.
