Part Time Seasonal - Warehouse Associate

Job Description

Warehouse Associate – Level I at Scholastic Book Fairs builds and delivers book fairs to schools. This Part‑Time Seasonal position requires flexible hours on the first shift, and offers $14 per hour.

The associate supports fair production and returns, processes customer orders, and maintains a safe, productive work environment while meeting accuracy and quality standards.

• Perform fair production tasks, including assembly of corrugated boxes, pricing, repacking, and put‑away of inventory.
• Handle customer orders, returns, and fulfillment using the company’s scanning and replenishment systems.
• Unload trucks, pull restocks, and organize the work area to keep it neat, clean, and safe.
• Operate motorized pallet jacks after successful completion of the SBF powered equipment program.
• Adhere to all safety policies, processes, and procedures.
• Maintain punctual, reliable attendance as required by SBF policy.
• Prioritize and plan work effectively to meet daily productivity targets.
• Record details of all tasks performed accurately and completely.
• Use tools and technology appropriately to complete work functions according to standard procedures.
• Maintain professional, positive relationships with co‑workers and customers.
• Comply with the company’s drug and alcohol‑free policy.
• Complete temporary projects or other duties as assigned to support team development.

• High School Diploma or GED Certificate preferred.
• Basic proficiency with a product scanner and minimal error rate.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic math skills and ability to read and follow English documents such as safety rules and operating instructions.
• Eligible to perform role duties satisfactorily; reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities.

• Lift boxes up to 50 lbs occasionally, and up to 30 lbs to a height of 70” occasionally.
• Push wheeled cases that may weigh in excess of 300 lbs, requiring an initial force of up to 50 lbs and sustained force up to 30 lbs.
• Stand, walk, climb, kneel, squat, bend, and reach as required.
• Perform tasks in a non‑air‑conditioned environment.
• Follow detailed instructions for assembly processes accurately.
• Use hands and arms to finger, handle, or feel items and to talk or hear, as required.
• Occasional sitting, climbing, or balancing tasks.
• Maintain vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
