Accountant V

Description

We are looking for an experienced Accountant V to join our team in Arlington, VA. This long-term contract position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute your expertise in accounting to a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management and analysis, as well as the ability to handle complex accounting tasks with precision and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

- Manage month-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

- Reconcile balance sheet accounts to maintain accuracy and compliance.

- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making.

- Collaborate with stakeholders to address accounting issues and improve processes.

- Utilize technical accounting knowledge to resolve complex financial challenges.

- Oversee multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

- Apply sound judgment in ambiguous situations to ensure effective problem-solving.

- Maintain strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands.

- Communicate effectively through written and oral channels to build relationships and share information.

- Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting functions and processes.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.

- Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience.

- Proven ability to perform month-end close activities and balance sheet reconciliations.

- CPA certification or equivalent is preferred.

- Experience in a fast-paced, high-tech start-up or similar environment.

- Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.

- Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
