Senior Project Accountant - Construction

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and proactive Project Accounting Manager to oversee financial performance across multiple projects, ensure accurate reporting, and partner closely with project managers and leadership. • Lead the project accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely project setup, reporting, and closeout.
• Monitor project budgets, forecasts, cost tracking, revenue recognition, and overall financial health.
• Prepare monthly project financial reports and present findings to leadership and project teams.
• Review and approve project invoices, billing schedules, and client‑facing financial documentation.
• Partner with project managers to support financial decision‑making, risk management, and margin optimization.
• Maintain compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and company policies.
• Analyze variances and investigate cost drivers, revenue performance, and contract alignment.
• Oversee the project accounting team and support development of staff, processes, and systems.
• Collaborate with FP&A, contracts, operations, and senior leadership on cross‑functional initiatives.
• Support system enhancements and process improvements to streamline workflow and reporting.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field (CPA or CMA is a plus).
• 5‑8+ years of accounting experience, including project accounting or revenue accounting.
• Experience managing or mentoring accounting staff.
• Strong understanding of project cost accounting, revenue recognition (GAAP), WIP, and KPIs.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Deltek, Net Suite, SAP, Unanet, Oracle).
• Advanced Excel skills and strong financial modeling capabilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner effectively with non‑financial stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail.
