Senior Accountant – Corporate
Reports to: Senior Manager, Accounting
Company Size: Mid‑Sized, Commercial Sector
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in overseeing the monthly and quarterly close process, managing complex general ledger activities, and ensuring the accuracy of financial statements across multiple entities. This role is highly cross‑functional, partnering closely with finance, operations, auditors, and external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate brings strong accounting fundamentals, experience improving processes, and the ability to operate independently in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven environment. This position offers visibility, leadership exposure, and opportunities to help shape the company’s accounting infrastructure as it scales.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and execute monthly and quarterly close activities, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines
- Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations for multiple entities
- Manage complex journal entries including revenue, accruals, intercompany activity, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and debt
- Prepare and review loan draws for the development portfolio
- Support preparation of financial statements and internal reporting packages
- Collaborate with finance and operations to deliver ad‑hoc reporting and analysis
- Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors, lenders, and vendors
- Assist with cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and working capital analysis
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and strengthen internal controls
- Experience with Net Suite, Oracle, or similar mid‑market/enterprise GL systems (strongly preferred)
- Advanced Excel skills; proficiency with PowerPoint and Word
- Public Accounting or audit experience is a strong plus
- Familiarity with multi‑entity environments and consolidated reporting
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required
- CPA license or active CPA candidate preferred
- 3–6 years of experience in general ledger accounting, corporate accounting, or external audit
