Senior Accountant

Overview

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Accountant in Arlington, VA. The role requires a detail‑oriented and reliable professional to support core accounting functions, including general ledger activity, month‑end close, and financial reporting. The candidate must bring strong accounting knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to operate independently.

• Lead and support month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
• Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts and financial records
• Assist with preparation of internal and external financial reports
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
• Support audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to requests
• Partner cross‑functionally to support business initiatives and financial accuracy
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiencies

• 2‑3 years of public accounting experience (minimum 2 busy seasons)
• Excel proficiency: pivot tables, formulas, and VLOOKUPs

Pay range is disclosed at posting and may be modified in the future. This role is not eligible for bonuses, incentives, or commissions.
