Tax Manager, CoStar Group – Arlington, VA
In‑office position located in Arlington, VA, Monday‑Friday. Reporting to the Head of Tax, this role supports the evolving tax accounting and compliance needs of CoStar Group.
KeyDuties & Responsibilities
- Assist with quarterly and annual ASC 740 financial reporting for domestic and international entities, including preparation of effective tax rate, current/deferred income taxes and valuation allowance issues.
- Assist with preparation of U.S. federal, state income and franchise tax returns, estimates and extensions.
- Perform tax research and planning regarding various tax issues.
- Work with Accounting Department to ensure capture of information as required for tax accounting and compliance.
- Maintain tax accounts including required reconciliations.
- Assist in resolution of federal, state, and local tax notices and audits.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited, not‑for‑profit, in‑person college/university.
- 6+ years of experience within a Big 4 firm or public accounting firm supporting public companies.
- Progressive responsibility in tax accounting and/or tax compliance in public accounting.
- Proficient in One Source tax provision software.
- ASC 740 experience.
- Knowledge of tax accounting requirements under U.S. GAAP.
- Experience with tax research tools.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, CoPilot).
- Solid workpaper technique and organizational skills.
- Self‑motivated with the ability to work on multiple projects.
- Experience working with Oracle or similar ERP systems.
- CPA certification strongly preferred.
- At least one year of corporate, in‑house experience at a publicly traded company.
- Experience leveraging AI tools to drive process efficiencies and operational improvements.
