Role Overview
Arlington, VA | In office, Monday-Friday
CoStar Group is continuing to acquire and grow at a rapid pace and is in need of a Tax Manager to support the ever evolving and growing needs of such a diverse company. The Tax Manager will be responsible for obtaining and analyzing information necessary to meet the tax accounting and compliance requirements of CoStar Group. Working with individuals within the company as well as outside advisors, this position will be actively involved in the preparation of the tax provision and related disclosures as well as income and indirect tax returns.
This position will report to the Head of Tax.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with quarterly and annual ASC 740 financial reporting for domestic and international entities including preparation of effective tax rate, current/deferred income taxes and valuation allowance issues
- Assist with preparation of U.S. federal, state income and franchise tax returns, estimates and extensions
- Perform tax research and planning regarding various tax issues
- Work with Accounting Department to ensure capture of information as required for tax accounting and compliance
- Maintain tax accounts including required reconciliations
- Assist in resolution of federal, state, and local tax notices and audits
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required from an accredited, not-for-profit, in-person college/university
- 6+ years of experience within a Big 4 firm or public accounting firm supporting public companies
- Progressive responsibility in tax accounting and/or tax compliance in public accounting
- Proficient in One Source tax provision software
- ASC 740 experience
- Knowledge of tax accounting requirements under U.S. GAAP
- Experience with One Source Tax Provision
- Experience with tax research tools
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, CoPilot)
- Solid workpaper technique and organizational skills
- Self‑motivated with the ability to work on multiple projects
- Experience working with Oracle or similar ERP systems
- CPA certification strongly preferred
- At least one year of corporate, in‑house experience at a publicly traded company
- Experience leveraging AI tools to drive process efficiencies and operational improvements
