Job Description

Role OverviewLocated in Arlington, VA (In‑office, Monday‑Friday), this senior position focuses on revenue accounting. Responsibilities include preparing work papers for revenue recognition, ensuring ASC 606 compliance, optimizing processes, and partnering cross‑functionally to support growth.
Revenue Accounting & Compliance- Prepare work papers for revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606, ensuring accurate and timely revenue reporting.
- Interview customer contracts to determine appropriate accounting treatment and align with revenue policies.
- Apply process improvements to billing, recognition, and reporting to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls related to revenue processes.
- Coordinate with external auditors to support revenue‑related audit requirements.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly revenue close processes and related work papers, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and proper cut‑off.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Legal, FP&A, and Product teams to evaluate revenue implications of new business models, pricing strategies, and product offerings.
- Review SaaS, software and professional services contracts, ensuring proper revenue treatment and identifying risks.
- Enhance and automate revenue accounting processes leveraging Oracle Fusion.
- Drive scalability in revenue operations to support CoStar’s global expansion.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related field from an accredited university.
- Track record of commitment to prior employers.
- Four years of relevant accounting experience.
- Experience working in or auditing large international public companies.
- Knowledge of ASC 606 and revenue recognition within SaaS/software and eCommerce business models, including subscription‑based revenue streams.
- Four years of progressive experience in revenue accounting.
- CPA or equivalent designation (strongly preferred).
- Experience in a high‑growth, global organization.
- Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
