Position Overview
This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Inspection Division, Office of Inspection, Audit Unit (INSA). The primary purpose of this position is to support the Inspection Division (IG), Office of Inspection (IN), Inspection Support Section (INS), Audit Unit (INSA). The position serves as an Auditor with responsibility to conduct and complete Performance, Financial, and Attestation Audit assignments throughout DEA.

Basic Qualification RequirementsCompletion of all requirements for a bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law.

GS-9 RequirementsSpecialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Participating in analysis and evaluations related to all aspects of accounting, management control and risk management;
2) Performing specific assignments relating to the preparation of audit report development;
3) Assisting in evaluating financial matters such as compliance with regulations and the adequacy of financial controls.
Two years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree.
