Staff Accountant

Location: Arlington, VA - hybrid opportunity (2-3x/week on-site)

Assignment Type: Direct hire

Compensation: $75-80K

• Prepare financial analyses, reports, journal entries, and monthly sales and payroll accounting.
• Maintain fixed assets, inventory, prepaid expenses, depreciation, amortization, and other recurring accounting schedules.
• Review and post accounts payable, record deposits, prepare sales/use tax filings, and perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Monitor general ledger accuracy, analyze financial data, and reconcile income statement accounts.
• Support annual audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and responding to audit requests.
• Partner with internal departments to resolve accounting issues, answer financial inquiries, and ensure timely month-end and year-end close activities.
• Assist with budgeting, expense accruals, and continuous process improvement while maintaining current accounting knowledge.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
• 2+ years of accounting experience, ideally within a mid-to-large organization.
• Experience preparing journal entries, performing balance sheet reconciliations, and managing high-volume financial data.
• Advanced Excel proficiency, including lookups and Pivot Tables.
