Position: Administrative Support Assistant (Office Automation).

Duties

  • Performs a variety of miscellaneous duties and responsibilities that provide continuity and efficiency of administrative office operations and procedures.
  • The incumbent performs varied functions that support the accomplishment of the work of the staff.
  • Applies knowledge of the various program elements assigned to staff members and of the mission and functions of the organization.
  • Requires the ability to search, select, interpret, and apply numerous regulations and guidelines pertaining to administrative/clerical support functions, and organizational operating procedures.
  • Coordinates with internal/external sources to advise on needs and ensure administrative and logistical support.
  • Acts as a liaison between the Military Police and Staff Judge Advocate (SJA).
  • Prepares case files, ensuring all evidence/appropriate paperwork is included in each case file (i.e., tickets, blood alcohol test results, drug analysis reports, radar certificates, criminal history background checks, driving histories, etc.).
Requirements
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to type at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5‑minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.
  • Must serve a one‑year probationary period, if applicable.
  • Selectively requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 WPM based on a 5‑minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.
  • Time in Grade Requirement:
    Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS‑06).
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre‑Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • Proof of U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Direct deposit of pay is required.
  • Applicants may be subject to restrictions from the Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
Qualifications

    Experience:

    One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS‑06 level in the Federal service, including writing business letters for official purposes, maintaining office records such as case files, reports, and log books for complaints, and preparing reports for the command or organization.
