Hours Per Week: Approximately 35 hours per week (standard business hours are 9:00 AM–5:00 PM). Schedules are flexible to accommodate current student class commitments.

Approximate Duration: May 2026 through early/mid-2027. Internships may last up to 11 months from the start date.

Work Schedule:

Interns are expected to work onsite Monday through Wednesday, with the option to work remotely on Thursday and Friday.

Basic Function of the Position:

The Member Programs Intern supports the Member Programs team in delivering programming, engagement opportunities, and operational support for CTA member divisions, councils, and working groups. The intern works under the guidance of the Senior Manager, Member Programs, who oversees multiple member groups, facilitates collaboration across CTA programs, and leads initiatives that support member engagement, recruitment, and retention.

This role provides hands‑on experience in association management, member engagement, event planning, and program operations. The intern will assist with meeting preparation, research, member communications, and event logistics while supporting initiatives that help CTA members collaborate and participate in industry programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Program & Meeting Support
  • Assist with preparation for division boards, councils, and working groups, including agenda preparation, materials compilation, and meeting logistics.
  • Take meeting notes and assist in developing organized meeting minutes and action item tracking.
  • Help maintain program calendars and assist with tracking follow‑up items related to member programs.
Event & Retreat Support
  • Assist with planning and coordination for division events, board retreats, and member gatherings.
  • Help develop speaker materials for events, including speaker bio books and briefing materials.
  • Assist with scheduling speaker preparation calls and coordinating speaker logistics.
  • Compile attendee lists and brief overviews of participating companies to support leadership engagement.
  • Support event logistics tracking, including attendee tracking, preparation of event materials, and coordination of planning timelines.
  • Assist the team in tracking vendor contracts and maintaining documentation related to event agreements and logistics.
Member Engagement & Event Prospecting
  • Support outreach and tracking related to potential participants for events and working groups.
  • Assist with prospecting and tracking attendees for member programs, particularly for division initiatives and industry events.
  • Help monitor event participation and engagement metrics.
Program Operations
  • Assist with organizing program documentation including templates, SOPs, governance materials, and program records.
  • Support tracking of member participation and engagement across member programs, including maintaining accurate database records.
  • Track committee activities and updates, including maintaining records of membership, meeting outcomes, and key actions.
  • Assist the Member Programs team with internal coordination and project tracking.
Research & Content Development
  • Conduct background research on member companies and industry topics to support program development.
  • Help prepare internal briefing materials and program summaries for staff and member leaders.

Education and Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in business, communications, nonprofit management, public policy, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and virtual meeting platforms.
