Background: Vectrona is seeking a Staff Action Control Officer (SACO) / Correspondence Action Control Officer (CACO) to support senior Army National Guard leadership by managing executive taskings, official correspondence, staff actions, workflow coordination, and suspense management. This position serves as a central coordination point for tracking, routing, staffing, and monitoring actions across headquarters organizations, ensuring leadership decisions, communications, and taskings are processed accurately, efficiently, and on time.
Day-to-DayResponsibilities
- Receive, review, route, track, and monitor staff actions and executive taskings from internal and external organizations.
- Manage suspense requirements and coordinate with action officers to ensure timely completion of assigned actions.
- Track correspondence packages, staffing actions, information papers, decision packages, and leadership communications throughout the review and approval process.
- Coordinate with Army National Guard directorates, National Guard Bureau staff offices, Joint Staff organizations, and external stakeholders to facilitate action resolution.
- Review staffing packages for completeness, proper coordination, formatting, and compliance with organizational requirements.
- Maintain task management systems, correspondence tracking tools, records repositories, and workflow databases.
- Provide status updates, reports, and metrics to leadership regarding action progress and suspense compliance.
- Support executive correspondence management and ensure proper routing of official communications.
- Assist with development and maintenance of staffing procedures, workflow guidance, and process documentation.
- Support meetings, working groups, and leadership engagements through action tracking and follow-up coordination.
- Identify workflow challenges and recommend process improvements that increase efficiency and accountability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Government, Management, Communications, Political Science, Information Management, or related field.
- 7+ years supporting Army, Army National Guard, Joint Staff, Service Headquarters, Combatant Commands, OSD, or comparable headquarters organizations.
- Experience managing staff actions, executive correspondence, suspense programs, task management systems, or executive secretariat operations.
- Strong understanding of Army and National Guard staffing processes, correspondence procedures, and organizational coordination requirements.
- Experience supporting senior leaders and executive-level headquarters operations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent actions and deadlines.
- Experience with records management, workflow tracking systems, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365 applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively across multiple organizations and leadership levels.
- Knowledge of Army National Guard staff action and correspondence procedures preferred.
