The SACO/CACO is a central coordination point for Army National Guard executive taskings, official correspondence, staff actions, workflow coordination, and suspense management. This role helps senior leaders and action officers move important work through headquarters accurately, efficiently, and on time. Success means creating visibility,maintaining accountability, enforcing standards, and making it easier for the organization to execute at mission tempo.
- Receive, review, route, track, and monitor staff actions and executive taskings from internal and external organizations.
- Manage suspense requirements and coordinate with action officers to ensuretimelycompletion of assigned actions.
- Track correspondence packages, staffing actions, information papers, decision packages, and leadership communications through review and approval.
- Coordinate across Army National Guard directorates, NGB staff offices, Joint Staff organizations, and external stakeholders tofacilitateaction resolution.
- Review staffing packages for completeness, proper coordination, formatting, and compliance with organizational requirements.
- Maintain task-management systems, correspondence tracking tools, records repositories, and workflow databases.
- Provide leadership with status updates, reports, and metrics related to action progress and suspense compliance.
- Support workflow guidance, staffing procedures, executive correspondence management, meetings, working groups, and process improvements.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Government, Management, Communications, Political Science, Information Management, or a related field.
- 7+ years supporting Army, Army National Guard, Joint Staff, Service Headquarters, Combatant Commands, OSD, or comparable headquarters organizations.
- Experience managing staff actions, executive correspondence, suspense programs, task-management systems, or executive secretariat operations.
- Strong understanding of Army and National Guard staffing processes, correspondence procedures, and organizational coordination requirements.
- Experience supporting senior leaders and executive-level headquarters operations; ability to manage multiple concurrent actions and deadlines.
- Experience with records management, workflow tracking systems, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365; knowledge of ARNG staff-action and correspondence procedures preferred.
- Integrity and sound professional judgment, especially when the work is visible to senior leaders.
