Summary

Lidl US is searching for the next Consultant - Operational Audit (Auditor) to join our team! The Auditor critically examines defined Lidl US processes and procedures to identify process compliance and improvement potential. This role works closely with internal business partners to examine current standards and provide feedback on areas of improvement with the goal of bringing customer-oriented results into motion to deliver added value.

• Effectively manage projects and project timelines while working independently and collaboratively to achieve short, medium, and long-term departmental visions
• Evaluate industry best practices and monitor developments and innovations within the retail sector particular to their business that may be beneficial to the daily operations of the organization
• Analyze and evaluate projects and develop ideas and/or practical solutions for streamlining business processes
• Visit Lidl US stores, Regional Distribution Centers and HQ departments to observe functionality and determine the level of adherence to established company standards
• Conduct audit interviews with various company employees
• Research and analyze company data in order to assess effectiveness of internal controls
• Write and distribute audit reports
• Follow up on corrective measures from audited departments
• Research new topics, develop new audit checklists under supervision
• Independently conduct new audits
• Participate in international assignments and joint audits
• Develop expertise at least in one operational topic (Sales, Supply Chain, Logistics, Purchasing)
• Develop and foster positive relationship with internal stakeholders
• Manages projects, work processes, systems, and/or procedures to ensure efficient workflow
• Identify, develop, and propose opportunities for business and process improvement
• Support in national and international projects
• Support the monitoring of audit projects in relation to quality, adherence to deadlines and process optimization
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Ability to work proactively in researching business best-practice concepts in relation to auditing projects and handle information in a sensitive and confidential manner

• Bachelor’s degree
• 3-5 years of experience in a related field
• In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience in related field will meet the education and related experience requirements listed above

• Ability to work a variety of shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times

• This position commutes between stores, regional offices and/or distribution centers up to 50% of the time
• This position requires overnight domestic travel up to 50% of the time
• This position requires overnight international travel less than 25% of the time
• Anticipated travel will be by car, air, and/or train
