Federal Business Development Consultant (Gov Con Focus)

GM Printer Experts & Network Solutions is a small government contractor specializing in secure printing environments, managed print services, IT equipment support, and operations within controlled government networks including SIPRNet, NIPRNet, and JWICS. The company supports mission critical environments at agencies such as NGA and the Pentagon and operates with a cleared technical workforce experienced in sensitive and classified settings.

GM Printer Experts & Network Solutions is also in active strategic dialogue with organizations across the Department of Defense ecosystem, including DISA, U.S. Air Force small business offices, and elements of the Intelligence Community, positioning the firm for accelerated growth within high priority federal mission areas.

Role Overview

The Executive Consultant, Federal Business Development supports the company’s federal growth by identifying high value government opportunities, shaping capture strategies, strengthening proposal development, and advising company leadership. This is an independent, part time consulting role for a self directed professional who can operate autonomously while collaborating closely with the CEO and senior technical staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, qualify, and track federal opportunities through SAM.gov and agency forecasts
  • Perform strategic go/no go assessments based on competitiveness and teaming posture
  • Support capture planning and proposal development, including selected technical and management sections
  • Build and manage a federal opportunity pipeline and teaming strategy
  • Refine executive communications, capability statements, presentations, and proposal narratives
  • Advise on positioning with primes, integrators, and government stakeholders

Candidates must demonstrate strong working knowledge of the U.S. federal acquisition environment. Applicants should be prepared to discuss experience with:

  • U.S. federal agencies or prime and subcontractors
  • Procurement platforms such as SAM.gov, GSA eBuy, FPDS, IPP, and PIEE
  • Federal proposal participation and capture roles
  • Differences between RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs
  • The Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
  • Past performance in the federal market
  • NDAs, teaming agreements, and subcontracting structures
  • Small business set aside programs such as WOSB, HUBZone, 8(a), or ISBEE
  • Unique value to a federal focused organization
  • Commercial to federal transition challenges
Time Commitment and Availability

Flexible schedule with one weekly one hour working session to review priorities, capture progress, and next actions. The consultant may maintain other professional engagements while supporting GMP.

Compensation Structure
