Women In Defense (WID), an affiliate of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA), engages, cultivates and supports the advancement of professionals in all aspects of national security. Incorporated in 1985, this empowerment organization provides women a business environment for professional growth through strategic networking, education, and career development.

Through WID’s internship program, rising undergraduate seniors and current graduate students can explore the world of women in defense in support of critical national security issues. Our programs offer students experience under the guidance of senior leadership. Whether working on a stand-alone project or part of a larger project, students engage in multiple stages from research, framing an issue or communicating results.

The internship will end in the summer prior to the fall semester. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the WID team by conducting assigned research

Assist in preparing summary reports

Work closely with the WID team to develop program recommendations

Assist in WID special projects include event preparations

Benefits:

Compensated bi-weekly at a rate of $15/hour Flexible schedule ADA SPECIFICATIONS (Physical demands that must be met to successfully complete the essential functions of the job list items such as unusual work schedule, occupational risk, travel required, physical effort, environment and demands that must be met to perform the essential functions of the job.)This position is primarily sedentary in the Arlington, Virginia office.

The position may require some bending and lifting.
