  • We believe in the value of deep tech and its positive impact on the world, aspiring to democratize access to it for entrepreneurs and professionals around the world.
  • We are venture builders who thrive at the intersection of US entrepreneurship, breakthrough technologies, and mission‑driven organizations.
  • Since 2015, we have supported over 1,000 companies that have collectively raised more than $5B in funding, while also partnering with hundreds of corporate, government, and university clients.
What you’ll do:

We are seeking a Senior Venture Strategy Consultant to lead high‑impact commercialization engagements for federally‑funded deep tech and dual‑use startups. This role combines hands‑on commercialization advisory support with leveraging an established network across investors, federal program offices, prime contractors, and industry partners to help drive meaningful traction for client companies. You will work directly with early‑stage companies, especially in defense and energy markets, helping translate complex technologies into actionable commercialization strategy.

Typical

functions include:
  • Lead commercialization consulting engagements with deep tech and dual‑use startups, including those funded through SBIR/STTR Technical and Business Assistance (TABA) and comparable federal mechanisms.
  • Actively engage with external networks across investors, industry partners, federal program offices, and ecosystem stakeholders to inform advisory work and create actionable connections for clients.
  • Conduct structured interviews with founders and technical teams to assess value propositions, R&D strategy, commercialization readiness, and market positioning.
  • Perform technical, competitive, and market diligence using structured frameworks and AI‑enabled research tools.
  • Synthesize information and develop actionable next steps, commercialization roadmaps, techno‑economic assessments, and strategic growth recommendations.
  • Provide guidance across SBIR/STTR pathways, non‑dilutive funding strategy, IP positioning, compliance considerations, and capital readiness.
  • Prepare and deliver high‑quality written reports and strategic briefings that inform critical growth decisions.
  • Manage engagement timelines, expectations, and deliverable quality across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Contribute ideas to continuously improve internal tools, templates, and AI‑driven workflows.
Successful candidates will have the following qualifications:
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in consulting, venture advisory, innovation programs, or technology commercialization or equivalent advanced education with 5+ years of experience.
  • Familiarity with the U.S. SBIR/STTR ecosystem; prior TABA (Technical and Business Assistance) experience is a plus.
  • Strong analytical capability with ability to synthesize technical and competitive information into clear commercialization strategy.
  • Experience working with and supporting early‑stage startups, particularly in defense, dual‑use, or energy markets, including leveraging an existing network and providing business development and growth‑related support to clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and leverage professional networks across innovation, investment, or federal technology ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently while delivering several client engagements in parallel within a structured advisory framework.
  • Hands on experience leveraging AI and modern research tools to increase analytical depth and delivery efficiency.
  • P&L and budget management experience, leveraging financial oversight to optimize resources and drive organizational impact.
  • Strong written communication skills, including experience drafting technical or strategic reports.
  • Self‑directed, accountable, and comfortable operating in a fast‑paced advisory environment.
