Job DescriptionEagle Hill is proactively seeking Consulting Manager candidates to fill potential project roles for our U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) client. These projects will provide strategic, operational, and analytical support to enable CBP offices to modernize operations, enhance workforce programs, and improve mission delivery. Applicants must be willing and able to work on client sites within the Washington, DC metro area on a daily basis or as required by the client.
Anticipated project work may include Program and Project Management, Strategic Communications, Workforce Engagement, Data Analytics, Process Optimization, Change Management or other Eagle Hill service offerings.
- Manage project teams and play a hands‑on role in developing client solutions and deliverables
- Work collaboratively with clients to develop a deep understanding of business issues, create strategies to address their problems, and work alongside clients to implement those solutions
- Develop and mentor more junior team members
- Actively lead and participate in business development
- Bachelor’s Degree
- A minimum of 5 years of work experience, including at least 2 years of experience leading teams performing project‑based work
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams through complex client challenges by assessing risks, dependencies, and stakeholder impacts, exercising sound judgment, and developing practical, outcome‑based solutions
- Strong relationship‑building skills, with demonstrated success earning trust, credibility, and influence with senior clients and executive‑level stakeholders through professionalism, sound judgment, and consistent follow‑through
- Demonstrated ability to lead project teams by fostering collaboration, building engagement, maintaining accountability, and keeping work aligned to client priorities in a project‑based consulting environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to tailor communications to different audience levels, communicate with executive presence, and clearly frame risks, recommendations, tradeoffs, and decisions
- Experience developing direct reports and/or more junior team members by setting expectations, providing coaching and feedback, supporting professional growth, and managing performance in a professional services or project‑based environment
- Highly proficient in MS Office Suite (including Excel and PowerPoint) and demonstrated ability to effectively use virtual collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams)
- Technical aptitude; ability to quickly learn new technology platforms
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
- Ability to successfully obtain and retain a CBP Background Investigation (BI), as well as any other background investigations required to perform client work
- Active CBP BI or have held a CBP BI within the last two years
- Data Analytics skills and experience with relevant platforms (e.g., PowerBI)
- Strategic communications experience
- Prior management consulting experience for Federal clients, focused on delivering solutions in Eagle Hill’s service lines (Organizational Performance, Talent, Change Management, Business Intelligence, and/or Technology Enablement)
- Demonstrated success in business development
