Overview

Position Title:

Planner
Skill Level: Journeyman
Clearance Level: TS-SCI
Blend of onsite 5 days per week (Joint Base Andrews and Pentagon) with some weeks hybrid.

Nationwide IT Services (NIS) is seeking a Planner - Journeyman to support SAF/AQT (Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Technology, Engineering, & Product Support) Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) at Joint Base Andrews, MD, and Headquarters Air Force, Pentagon.

SAF/AQT provides oversight and guidance across the acquisition lifecycle from invention to disposal, advancing military unique science and technology, capability development, and product support. The Scientific Advisory Board (SAB), a Federal Advisory Committee (FACA of 1977), provides the Department of the Air Force with independent advice on Science and Technology relating to the DAF mission, reporting directly to the Secretary of the Air Force.

The SAB conducts studies on topics deemed critical to the DAF mission and recommends applications of technologies that can improve DAF capabilities.

This position assists the government at the directorate level with meeting and conference planning functions. The candidate must have an intermediate knowledge of the Joint Federal Travel Regulation (JFTR) and Privacy Act regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate, track, and report travel arrangements for meeting and conference attendees
  • Develop trip books and agendas for meetings as needed
  • Compile read-ahead materials
  • Identify and schedule briefers
  • Assist with processing travel vouchers in DTS
  • Coordinate meeting and conference logistics including travel itineraries, transportation, and meals
  • Inform guest speakers of potential discussion topics
  • Engage attendees and external stakeholders on travel-related items
  • Track and report travel order status, voucher status, meeting status, and attendee status
  • Develop meeting/conference registration information
  • Develop metrics, track performance, report metrics, and suggest improvements
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties in support of SAF/AQT
  • Handle confidential and classified information (Secret/TS-SCI) and communications
  • Perform other tasks closely associated with duties listed above as coordinated with the COR
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related discipline
  • At least 3 years of relevant legislative analyst experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Excel, TEAMS) and Adobe Reader/Pro; ability to learn new tools quickly
  • Public speaking proficiency; able to deliver briefs and presentations in person and online
Work Experience Substitutions
  • Six years of relevant work experience may substitute for a BA/BS degree
  • Associates degree plus four years of relevant work experience may substitute for a BA/BS degree
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to move/traverse throughout a large, secure facility and between work areas
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions with hands, wrists, and fingers
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and work on a computer
