P/T Child Watch Attendant Salary:$13.00 hour

The YMCA Arlington is looking for a caring, helpful, and enthusiastic team player to join our Child Watch team. The Child Watch Attendant supervises children in the YMCA child watch program. The attendant is responsible for providing a safe and enjoyable childcare for members and their children.

• Maintain visual and auditory supervision at all times
• Responsible for the safety and well-being of each child under their supervision and maintain a creative and playful atmosphere for all participants
• Plan and supervise activities for the children
• Play and interact with the children while they are in your care
• Change diapers when necessary

• Monday – Thursday 4:00pm – 8:00pm

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Experience in ChildWatch preferred
• Clear local jurisdiction background check and/or fingerprinting requirements
• Must be able to effectively communicate with children and parents
• Must understand and be committed to working with a diverse population and to YMCA character development

• Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
• Must be physically active to play games and sports with the children
• Must be able to pick up at least 35 pounds
• Must have visual acuity to observe all children
