Aboutthe Job
The YMCA Arlington is looking for a caring, helpful, and enthusiastic team player to join our Child Watch team. The Child Watch Attendant supervises children in the YMCA child watch program. The attendant is responsible for providing a safe and enjoyable childcare for members and their children.
Exciting Tasks You Will Do- Maintain visual and auditory supervision at all times
- Responsible for the safety and well-being of each child under their supervision and maintain a creative and playful atmosphere for all participants
- Plan and supervise activities for the children
- Play and interact with the children while they are in your care
- Change diapers when necessary
- Monday – Thursday 4:00pm – 8:00pm
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Experience in ChildWatch preferred
- Clear local jurisdiction background check and/or fingerprinting requirements
- Must be able to effectively communicate with children and parents
- Must understand and be committed to working with a diverse population and to YMCA character development
- Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
- Must be physically active to play games and sports with the children
- Must be able to pick up at least 35 pounds
- Must have visual acuity to observe all children
Compensation for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience.
