Construction Manager

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead a team of Project Managers and oversee a growing portfolio of projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.

What You'll Do

As Construction Manager, you will provide leadership, oversight, and operational direction across a diverse range of multifamily renovation and capital improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Project Managers responsible for multiple active construction projects.
  • Oversee daily operations of multifamily renovation and capital improvement projects throughout the region.
  • Ensure project execution aligns with contract documents, local regulations, quality standards, and owner expectations.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships that support long-term growth and project success.
  • Manage the bidding process, analyze competitive proposals, negotiate contracts, and execute purchase orders.
  • Promote and enforce a culture of jobsite safety in compliance with OSHA standards and company policies.
  • Develop, track, and manage project budgets from pre-construction through project closeout.
  • Monitor schedules, budgets, and quality metrics to ensure project objectives are achieved.
  • Conduct regular site visits to evaluate project progress, quality of work, safety compliance, and adherence to timelines.
  • Collaborate with design and pre-construction teams on scopes of work, specifications, construction documents, and project budgeting.
  • Prepare and present project updates, forecasts, and performance metrics to senior leadership.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks while driving operational efficiencies and continuous improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of construction management experience, with significant experience in multifamily renovations and value-add capital projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing construction teams across multiple projects and markets.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, construction methods, permitting requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Experience managing competitive bid processes, subcontractor negotiations, and contract administration.
  • Proven ability to create, manage, and forecast detailed project budgets.
  • Strong network of subcontractors, vendors, and industry relationships.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact effectively with ownership groups, clients, contractors, and project teams.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to operate independently while driving accountability throughout the organization.
  • Proficiency in project management and construction software platforms, including Buildertrend and Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the assigned region.
