Reporting to the Design Director, you will execute design work across WETA’s distinct sub‑brands—including WETA PBS, WETA+, Well Beings, and WETA Classical—contributing to WETA’s visual identity through a range of execution‑focused assignments. You will design print collateral and digital assets for fundraising campaigns and program initiatives;

apply brand identities and style guides across WETA’s program portfolios; and contribute to environmental graphics projects such as branded interior spaces across WETA’s facilities. This role will also support internal communications, working closely with our People & Culture team. Strong organization skills, print production fundamentals, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to navigate feedback constructively are essential.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Brand Design Execution: Design advertising collateral, publications, promotional merchandise, event materials, and program assets within WETA’s established brand guidelines.
  • Cross‑Platform Execution: Produce print, digital, web, social media, and broadcast assets that meet project specifications and brand standards.
  • Print Production Support: Assist with print production processes, including file preparation and pre‑flighting, coordinating with vendors and internal teams to ensure quality and meet specifications.
  • Iterative

    Collaboration:

Work with cross‑departmental stakeholders to translate creative briefs into effective designs, incorporating feedback constructively and meeting project timelines.
  • Studio Administration: Help maintain the studio’s digital asset management system, organize project files, and support day‑to‑day studio operations.
Core Competencies
  • Brand Design Execution: Ability to apply and execute within established brand identities and visual guidelines across WETA’s organization and its sub‑brands.
  • Multichannel Execution: Strong foundational design skills—typography, layout, hierarchy, color—applied consistently across print, digital, web, and broadcast platforms.
  • Print Production Fundamentals: Working knowledge of physical production processes, file preparation, pre‑flighting, color correction, and vendor coordination.
  • Diplomatic Communication: Interpersonal skills to translate creative briefs, present concepts, and manage iterative stakeholder feedback.
  • Time Management & Organization: Ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments, meet fast‑paced deadlines, and keep project files and digital assets organized.
Additional

Skills and Qualifications
  • Technical Expertise: Strong foundation in typography, layout, hierarchy, and color theory, alongside knowledge of print production (pre‑flighting, color correction).
  • Soft Skills: Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills to balance multiple deadlines and effectively articulate design concepts.
  • Generative AI Familiarity: Familiarity with or interest in integrating ethical generative AI tools into design workflows, with an awareness of appropriate and responsible use.
  • Portfolio: A link to a portfolio showcasing relevant work is strictly required.
