Job Title
This position is a 1.0 FTE located at the Office of Special Education.
ResponsibilitiesImplements instructional programs that meet the needs, interests and abilities of students using appropriate instructional materials. Maintains safe and orderly environment. Communicates with parents/guardians. Maintains complete and accurate student records. Collaborates with school administrators, other teachers, instructional assistants, parents, and community members. Monitors and assesses student achievement. Attends ongoing professional learning and meetings.
ExperienceTeaching experience in special education. Knowledge of best instructional practices. Ability to integrate technology. Experience in educational and instructional leadership.
QualificationsMust have or be eligible for Virginia licensure. Special Education endorsement. Preferred qualifications related to SPED Resource Teacher - Dual role. Must have an endorsement in Special
Education:
Deaf and Hard of Hearing (Pre-K-12). Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in any other content area, is preferred but not required.
Salary based on the 2026-27 T-Scale salary schedule.
