JOB SUMMARY The School of Design + Art in the College of Business, Innovation, Leadership, and Technology (BILT) at Marymount University invites applications from persons qualified to teach undergraduate GMD studio courses. Depending on your expertise and experience, you may teach a course in any area of study offered by the GMD program, including Adobe CC, digital photography, videography, motion graphics, digital publishing or publications, web design, UX/UI, or design communications.

Applicants will be expected to follow the syllabus and set curriculum for the course already prepared and delivered through Canvas.

Faculty are expected to teach high-quality courses in face-to-face settings. The School of Design + Art within the College of BILT is located at Marymount University’s Main Campus in the city of Arlington, Virginia. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teach designated courses, including keeping teaching materials current, interacting with students in discussions and hands-on activities, the continuous grading of assignments, and monitoring student performance through the courses.

Maintain appropriate office hours and support students in their educational journey and in their career progression.

Work with the GMD Program Manager to identify new subjects in the field and identify yourself or other guest speakers and potential adjuncts to deliver this material.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Masters degree and/or substantial professional experience in the design industry

Five years of professional experience in the field is preferred

Must be proficient in design software and processes using Adobe CC in a Mac environment.

Experience teaching in higher education is preferred

Compensation/Benefits Adjuncts receive remuneration on a semester basis, pay is $1,200/credit hour.
