Summary
We are looking for a qualified Bilingual Teacher (English / Spanish) to work at our Arlington location with our Pre‑K and Kindergarten students. The classrooms have a Spanish teacher and a class assistant, together you will make a dynamic team!
DutiesResponsibilities
:
- Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media, etc.) to teach children.
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques and teaching strategies to meet different aptitudes and interests of students, including whole group (co‑teaching) and small‑group learning.
- Observe and develop each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self‑esteem.
- Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional conflicts.
- Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum to ensure learning readiness for elementary school.
- Track children's progress and report to parents through daily written communication, twice yearly parent‑teacher conferences, and semesterly progress reports.
- Collaborate with other educators.
- Contribute productively to the school as a whole.
- Participate in in‑service and staff development activities and staff meetings as required or assigned.
- Attend and participate in established traditional school‑sponsored activities (i.e. back to school night, recitals, and other activities customarily attended by classroom teachers and/or faculty members), which may be outside of regular school hours.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills
:
- Proven English and Spanish proficiency.
- Proven skills and knowledge about teaching English (English grammar, spelling, semantics, vocabulary, etc.).
- Understanding the principles of child development and preschool educational methods.
- Good communication and instructional skills.
- BA in Early Childhood Education or similar degree in child development or teaching.
- CDA and further graduate work.
- Ability to have transcripts transferred or have transcripts and degree evaluated if from a university outside of the U.S.
- CPR/ First Aid required within 30 days.
- Medication Administration Training (MAT) certificate.
- Daily Health Observation certificate.
- Health Insurance.
