Mandarin Chinese Language Instructor - Hybrid Class Job Arlington area,Virginia USA,Education / Teaching

ICA Language Services is seeking an experienced Mandarin Chinese language instructor (traditional script) to provide instruction at our facility in Rosslyn, VA and online. This position supports intensive classroom language instruction focused on listening, speaking, and reading skills.

Location:

Rosslyn, VA (on-site classroom) and online
Days:
Monday - Friday; preferably Tuesdays/Thursdays in person
Schedule:

9:00 am-2:00 pm

Duties and Responsibilities

Plan and deliver intensive Mandarin Chinese (traditional script) classes aligned with NFATC-style test preparation and proficiency goals
Teach core language skills (listening, speaking, reading) using communicative, task-based, and proficiency-based methods
Develop and adapt instructional materials to meet learners' specific skill levels and test preparation needs
Administer practice assessments and quizzes to monitor student progress
Provide constructive feedback to students and support independent language study
Integrate classroom activities that simulate NFATC testing formats and task-based language use
Under the guidance of the language training supervisor, provide monthly reports of students' progress

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mandarin Chinese, linguistics, education, or a related field
Minimum two years of experience teaching Mandarin Chinese to adult learners in an intensive setting
Familiarity with the ILR proficiency scale and NFATC (FSI) testing protocols
Ability to develop materials and exercises aligned with test requirements
Strong organizational, communication, and classroom management skills
Minimum ILR 4/4 proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and demonstrated knowledge of Traditional Chinese characters.
High proficiency in English sufficient for instruction and feedback
