Job Description:

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Job Title:

Energy Auditor

As an Energy Auditor with the Parsons Engineering Support Contractor (ESC) Program supporting the U.S. Department of Labor Job Corps Program, you won't just perform energy audits-you'll be expected to find opportunities, solve problems, and drive meaningful improvements. This is not a role for someone who simply checks boxes. We're looking for someone who takes initiative, enjoys being in the field, isn't afraid to ask questions, and is motivated to make a real impact.

You'll conduct energy and water audits at Job Corps Centers across the country, identify practical solutions that reduce utility consumption and operating costs, and help strengthen safety standards across the ESC team. Supporting 121 Job Corps Centers across six regions, this role offers the opportunity to work independently, collaborate with a diverse team, and make a measurable difference at facilities nationwide.

POSITION SUMMARY

Under direction of the Deputy Program Manager, the Energy Auditor is responsible for conducting comprehensive energy audits at Job Corps Centers located throughout the United States. The energy auditor will work closely with the Director of Asset Management. This position requires 24 energy audits per year with a detailed audit report prepared for each center. The Energy Auditor will evaluate building systems, energy and water usage, and develop cost-justified recommendations for energy and water conservation measures.

This role also serves as a Safety Representative for the ESC program, supporting the team on safety-related matters.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Energy Audit Performance

* Travel to assigned Job Corps Center locations nationwide to perform on-site energy evaluations of all buildings on each campus.

* Conduct energy audits consistent with ASHRAE Level 1 procedures, in accordance with EISA (Energy Independence and Security Act) requirements, at a minimum of 24 sites per 12-month period.

* Evaluate existing building systems, including:

* HVAC systems and controls

* Electrical systems and distribution

* Lighting systems and controls

* Building envelope (walls, roofing, windows, doors, insulation)

* Other energy-consuming systems and equipment (e.g., domestic hot water, kitchen/laundry equipment, controls/BAS)

* Site lighting and other site features

* Onsite energy generation such as solar PV, wind and other generation technologies.

Data Collection and Analysis

* Collect and review utility bills (electric, gas, water) and historical energy usage data for each site.

* Analyze energy consumption patterns and benchmark building performance.

* Review and evaluate water usage data for each site and identify water conservation opportunities.

Reporting and Recommendations

* Prepare a comprehensive energy audit report for each center audited documenting findings, existing conditions, and energy/water usage analysis.

* Develop recommendations for energy and water use reduction measures tailored to each facility.

* Prepare a high-level Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA) for each proposed energy conservation measure (ECM), including estimated costs, savings, and simple payback/return on investment.

* Deliver reports and findings in a clear, organized format suitable for review by program management and stakeholders.

Safety Responsibilities

* Serve as a Safety Representative for the ESC program.

* Assist in updating the team on safety items, hazards, and best practices relevant to fieldwork.

* Ensure all fieldwork is performed in compliance with applicable safety regulations and program safety protocols, including safe use of ladders and safe practices when working at heights (e.g., rooftop equipment access).

Other Duties

* Coordinate site visit logistics…
