What we're looking for

Dover Food Retail (DFR) has an exciting career opportunity for a Director, Advance Manufacturing Engineering & Technology
. This critical role is an integral part of the DFR Operations Leadership Team. DFR is the leading manufacturer of Display Cases, Specialty Products, Refrigeration Systems, Power Systems and Comprehensive Services under brands such as Hill Phoenix and Anthony. Reporting to the VP of Operations, this role will lead and coordinate Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering for the universe of DFR sites.

This role will serve as a new product introduction (NPI) lead for technology and processes and will serve as the subject matter expert to lead global manufacturing strategies for the global business, to drive best in class manufacturing engineering processes and performance. A key deliverable is standardization and best in class cost.

What you will be responsible for in this role
  • Lead the Advanced Manufacturing team across DFR
  • Deliver process optimization vision, method and accountability through the development and implementation of preferred process benchmarking and optimization methodology
  • Provide development; along with input into and supports delivery of performance reviews, skill requirements and development plans for all manufacturing engineering functions; manages and provides technical leadership to Plant Engineering professionals and staff
  • Lead global manufacturing strategies for the global business; drive best in class manufacturing engineering processes and performance; standardization and cost optimization

What you will do

  • Reporting to the Vice President Global Operations Excellence, the Director of Global Advanced Manufacturing Engineering leads and coordinates the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and Manufacturing engineering efforts for PBU s and plants globally; serves as the NPI lead for technology and processes; leads AME SMEs to drive global strategies and standardization for best in class cost
  • Manage and provide technical leadership to Plant Engineering professionals and staff; lead process optimization vision and development; provide training and development; support performance reviews and development plans
  • Act as functional lead for all Advanced Manufacturing and Manufacturing engineers in the buildings business
  • Lead development and implementation of the preferred process benchmark and optimization methodology; drive the solution to optimize global processes
  • Lead identification and deployment of technology roadmaps
  • Commit to AME technology roadmap plans and AME CI goals; manage AME reports and KPI reporting to Operations and PBU leadership
  • Approve equipment CARs with Ops Leaders to ensure specification adherence; manage capital budget for product investments
  • Lead Manufacturing 4.0 vision and implementation across the business
  • Coordinate PDP programs in DFMA feasibility reviews with Product Engineering to ensure manufacturability
  • Define equipment standards and controls; develop and execute a manufacturing maturity assessment to drive standardization
  • Direct equipment Best Practices implementation globally
  • Align top PBU priorities with functional leaders and ensure AME actions are implemented
  • Support Plant Engineering Managers and staff; participate in performance reviews and development plans
  • Direct the assignment, training and accountability of JCMS Buildings SMEs; ensure DFM SME certification
  • Lead AME/ME team in developing collaborative relationships with internal and external customers to improve service and problem solving; coordinate with Global Manufacturing Quality and PBU Quality leaders
  • Support selection, hiring, and training of AME/ME leaders; promote safe working conditions during plant visits
  • Develop self through continued training and exposure to equipment and manufacturing best practices
