Feb 14, 2026 Join AWS as a Senior Cloud Hardware Development Engineer to architect and lead the development of next-generation cloud infrastructure hardware. This position requires that the candidate selected must be a US Citizen and currently possess and maintain an active Secret security clearance. The position further requires that, after start, the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.

- Architect and lead development of complex PCB designs incorporating FPGA So Cs
- Drive system-level hardware architecture decisions and technical requirements
- Lead new product introduction (NPI) processes with contract manufacturers
- Develop and validate high-speed digital and mixed-signal circuits
- Ensure designs meet EMI/EMC compliance, thermal, and signal integrity requirements
- Partner with FPGA/firmware teams to define hardware interfaces and requirements
- Lead design reviews and drive technical consensus across multiple teams
- Mentor junior engineers and establish hardware engineering best practices A day in the life
You'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of hardware, software, and FPGA engineers in our dedicated product development lab. Your responsibilities will span architecting innovative hardware solutions, conducting PCB design reviews, coordinating with contract manufacturers, troubleshooting prototypes, and providing technical mentorship to team members. You'll establish strong partnerships with product managers to define technical requirements, collaborate with FPGA engineers to refine hardware interfaces, and work alongside manufacturing teams to ensure successful production scaling.
