Join AWS as a Senior Cloud Hardware Development Engineer to architect and lead the development of next‑generation cloud infrastructure hardware. Within Bespoke Solutions, the Refactor hardware development team empowers Region Services teams by eliminating reliance on external vendor constraints. We aim to be the trusted partner of choice for our service teams, delivering comprehensive product life‑cycle support that enables them to scale at the pace of customer demand. For teams choosing to develop hardware internally, we provide access to our library of validated designs and proven processes to accelerate their development timelines.
The candidate selected must be a US Citizen and obtain and maintain a security clearance at the TS/SCI with polygraph level. Upon start, the selected candidate will be sponsored for a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.
Key Job Responsibilities- Architect and lead development of complex PCB designs incorporating FPGA So Cs
- Drive system‑level hardware architecture decisions and technical requirements
- Lead new product introduction (NPI) processes with contract manufacturers
- Develop and validate high‑speed digital and mixed‑signal circuits
- Ensure designs meet EMI/EMC compliance, thermal, and signal integrity requirements
- Partner with FPGA/firmware teams to define hardware interfaces and requirements
- Lead design reviews and drive technical consensus across multiple teams
- Mentor junior engineers and establish hardware engineering best practices
You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of hardware, software, and FPGA engineers in our dedicated product development lab. Your responsibilities will span architecting innovative hardware solutions, conducting PCB design reviews, coordinating with contract manufacturers, troubleshooting prototypes, and providing technical mentorship to team members. You’ll establish strong partnerships with product managers to define technical requirements, collaborate with FPGA engineers to refine hardware interfaces, and work alongside manufacturing teams to ensure successful production scaling.
BasicQualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
- 10+ years of hardware engineering experience
- Experience with DFx (Design for cost, test, manufacturing)
- Experience in motherboard design, PCB design including schematic capture, stackup and circuit board layout
- Experience with FPGA SoC hardware integration, hardware validation and debugging
- Experience with AMD/Intel FPGA SoC platforms
- Expertise in signal integrity and power integrity analysis and PCB design tools (Allegro, Altium, or similar)
- Experience with high‑volume manufacturing and NPI processes
- Experience with industry standards (PCIe, DDR, SERDES, etc.)
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Secret or above
