Sr. Buyer, Fire​/Safety Protection

Due to tremendous growth, my client, a $3B leading engineering and construction contractor is seeking a Sr. Buyer / Sr. Procurement Engineer to support their Life Safety Fire Alarm business in Arlington, VA.

In this role, you will be an integral part of a growing firm working on mission critical projects.

This role is key in bridging engineering and procurement functions
, ensuring that all sourced materials, components, and systems meet technical specifications, cost targets, and quality standards.

• Lead technical sourcing activities for electrical, mechanical, and electro-mechanical components, systems, and assemblies for assigned projects.
• Evaluate and select suppliers based on technical capability, cost, quality, and delivery performance.
• Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to drive continuous improvement and cost reduction.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management or Business Admin
• 3-10 Years of experience in an engineering or procurement role
• Strong technical background in electrical and/or mechanical systems, ability to interpret complex drawings and specifications.
• Product knowledge - fire, safety alarm
• Demonstrated success in supplier negotiations, cost analysis, and value engineering.
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems, sourcing tools,
• Excellent communication and project management skills.
• Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain security clearance
• This position is onsite 100%. No option for remote or hybrid
