Senior Electromagnetic Effects Engineer

Position Overview

This position will support Boeing Commercial Airplanes programs from the 737 to the 787 and beyond. Projects center on translating concepts and high‑level requirements into specific architectures and operational specifications. The engineer will work with systems engineers to validate designs through analysis, laboratory and airplane testing, and will support aircraft systems from initial concept through certification, delivery, and continued enhancement as long as they remain in service.

• Develop and validate requirements for various communication, sensor, electronic warfare, and other electromagnetic systems and components.
• Develop and validate electromagnetic requirements for electrical, electronic, mechanical systems, interconnects, and structures.
• Create architectures to integrate systems and components into higher‑level systems and platforms. Perform trade studies, modeling, simulation, and other analysis to predict component, interconnect, and system performance and to optimize design around established requirements.
• Define and conduct tests to validate performance of designs against requirements.
• Manage supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance with requirements.
• Provide support throughout product life cycles by developing root‑cause analysis of anomalies and additional engineering support as requested.
• Guide successful completion of major program aspects and may function in a project leadership role.
• Work under minimal direction.

Position is 100% onsite. The selected candidate will work onsite at Everett, WA.

• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
• Five or more years of experience in electromagnetic effects qualification, production support, design, test, or analysis.

• Degree concentration in physics, electrical, aeronautical, or mechanical engineering.
• Experience building and leading cross‑functional teams.
• Experience working in a laboratory test environment.
• Experience working with federal regulations and certifications.
• Experience in commercial or military airplane maintenance and/or modification.
• Experience or education in electromagnetic theory and advanced mathematics necessary for electromagnetic analysis, design, modeling, and testing.
