Part 21 Electrical / Avionics Engineer
Company: Boeing Commercial Aviation Services Europe Limited
This role supports the certification of large aircraft modifications for global airline partners and is based at our BGS EASA Modifications site in Frimley, UK. Occasional national and/or international travel may be required.
Key Responsibilities- Reporting to the Electrical/Avionics Engineering Manager and working with the global engineering services team across multiple time zones to identify requirements and associated solutions for active and upcoming projects.
- Contribute to design activities to ensure compliance with design requirements and address certification and design/integration issues relating to electrical/avionic equipment and systems changes as part of large aircraft modifications.
- Support certification activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Compile engineering documentation and instructions for continued airworthiness, including:
- wiring diagrams
- wire routing installation drawings, and harness fabrication drawings
- service bulletins/accomplishment instructions
- aircraft and component manual ICA supplements including wiring diagram manuals, system schematic manuals and EWIS assessments
- Compile certification documents to demonstrate compliance with relevant electrical systems related airworthiness requirements, such as electrical load analysis documents, test plans and reports, compliance statements, system safety, equipment qualification, EWIS documents, compliance checklists, and certification programmes.
- Act as Boeing representative during customer milestone meetings such as ITCM, PDR, CDR, and FAI and provide on‑site support to assist customers during the embodiment phase of the project.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Avionics or Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering.
- 1–2 years of relevant experience.
- Current or recent employment within the aerospace industry, specifically with an EASA Part 21J Design Organisation (or equivalent).
- Basic working knowledge of EASA regulatory and airworthiness requirements (E)
TSO, CS‑25, JAR‑25, and FAR‑25 relevant to electrical/avionics. - Knowledge and experience with aircraft interior modification programmes (advantageous).
- High level of attention to detail and professional integrity.
- Ability to work on multiple programmes with varying levels of requirements.
- Ability to prioritize workloads and adapt to changing situations.
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues and customers, embodying honesty, integrity, and transparency.
