Job Description
AECOM has a Senior Electrical Engineer position available in Arlington, VA.
Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:
* Lead/develop teams to complete both small and large projects.
* Experience with both internal and external clients
* Serve as a Discipline Leader for our Arlington team
* Complete electrical power and lighting designs for projects of all sizes
* Make major design recommendations and design decisions
* Plan design work, calculate costs, and prepare schedules to assign design duties to junior staff
* Coordinate design and schedule with other disciplines such as mechanical, communications, structural, ITS, civil, clerical, and equipment suppliers
* Maintain accurate project documentation and design data for permanent project files
* Act as an adviser and reviews correspondence prepared by junior project team members
* Evaluate project staffing requirements, analyze problems, and write reports
* Attend project meetings, or when appropriate, delegates activities
* Meet with clients, prepare proposals and presentations while maintaining good client relations
* Lead project quality control
* Have knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of technical plans and drawings
* Switch between work on multiple/different projects daily
* Represent the organization and maintain liaison with individuals and related organizations
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering plus 8 years of relevant experience or a combination of experience and/or education
* Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Virginia or the ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months of start date
* Experience working on various electrical systems
* Due to the nature of this work, US Citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in Electrical Engineering with 10 years of recent relevant experience
* Recent, previous experience with VDOT projects
* Experience designing low and medium voltage power distribution systems.
* Electrical code knowledge including National Electric Code (NEC)
* Experience scoping and drafting fees for electrical engineering components of interdisciplinary project work
* Experience in Electrical Power Calculation Software, including: SKM and ETAP
* Lighting calculation experience with AGI

* Experience with NFPA, ISA, and IEEE Regulatory Codes
* Experience using Microsoft programs and BIM software (primarily Revit and AutoCAD)
* Experience in the following markets:
Corporate Workplace and Commercial buildings, Federal Civilian and DoD, Healthcare, Mission Critical, Justice, and Higher Education projects.
* Ability to manage and work on multiple projects with other team members.
