Job Overview
Model-Based Mission Engineer (Mid‑Level) – help develop next‑generation Air Force capabilities through SysML modeling, mission engineering, and digital architecture development.
Responsibilities- Evaluate and improve mission architectures, perform trade studies, risk assessments, and capability gaps analysis.
- Develop and communicate complex system models using MBSE tools such as Cameo Magic Draw.
- Support analytic assessments, trade studies, and risk evaluations for defense systems.
- Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and Air Force stakeholders to integrate new technologies into future force designs.
- 3+ years of experience with MBSE and SysML modeling.
- Knowledge of system‑of‑systems architecture and mission engineering concepts, including MOPs and MOEs.
- Ability to develop, analyze, and communicate system models to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- TS/SCI security clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
- 5+ years supporting the U.S. Air Force or other DoD customers.
- Experience with digital engineering strategies, DoDAF, and mission thread analysis.
- Ability to integrate data analytics or simulation tools with system models.
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) or similar MBSE certification.
Applicants selected will undergo a security investigation and must maintain TS/SCI clearance.
Compensation & BenefitsSalary range: $69,400 – $158,000 (annualized USD). Benefits include health, life, disability, financial, retirement, paid leave, tuition assistance, work‑life programs, and dependent care. Full‑time and part‑time employees (min. 20 hours/week) are eligible for the benefit program.
Work Model- Remote: Some in‑person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility may be required.
- Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility with occasional visits to customer sites.
- Onsite: Primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility.
