Status: Full-time permanent
Location: Arlington, Virginia (DC metro area preferred)
Travel: Regional and international travel required as role demands for business development and project work.
Annual Salary Range: US $100,000 - $125,000 (determined by experience, education, and skills).

As a Transport Expert, you’ll guide strategy and project delivery in transport, while also spearheading business development. This is an exciting opportunity to guide transport decision‑makers, develop project pipelines, assess feasibility, and develop economic and financial models. You’ll collaborate with a nimble, high‑performing team of transportation management consultants in a fast‑paced environment—helping to expand our practice and serve public and private sector clients with innovative solutions.
Yourresponsibilities
- Lead business development efforts, securing projects with development partners and private sector clients.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders, including Multilateral Development Banks, governments, and private sector players.
- Serve as Project Manager or Team Lead for priority projects in transport.
- Develop and mentor consultants.
- Represent the firm at key events and conferences to build visibility and thought leadership.
- Contribute to donor and client assessments, pipeline development, and strategic partnerships.

- Master’s degree in economics, public policy, finance, engineering, transport, or other relevant fields.
- Ten or more years of professional experience in the infrastructure sector, with significant experience in freight transport (aviation, rail, corridor development, roads, etc.).
- Expertise in policy, economics, finance, and/or engineering in transport infrastructure.
- Strong track record in business development and proven ability to grow new business initiatives.
- Demonstrated Project Management experience, ideally in international development or infrastructure consulting.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Capability in Russian, French or Spanish is an asset.
- The legal right to work permanently in the United States (i.e., without sponsorship presently or in future).
- Experience in the freight transport sector.
- Experience in aviation, railways, corridor toll roads preferred.
- Strong understanding of US donors and/or multilateral development bank procurement and project processes (e.g., USTDA, ADB, World Bank, EBRD).
- Experience with US donor‑funded projects (USAID/US Department of State, USTDA, MCC, DFC, etc.).
- Geographic experience in the Asia Pacific region, including Central Asia.
- Demonstrated success in thought leadership (e.g., speaking at conferences, publishing research).
