THE WORK- You’ll serve as Deputy Construction Manager, supporting the CM in overseeing day-to-day construction activities across complex transportation and capital infrastructure projects in the Mid-Atlantic region.
- You’ll assist in managing and coordinating design reviews, plan approvals, and constructability reviews, identifying potential problems in advance and taking corrective action or escalating to the Construction Manager and client leadership.
- You’ll support preparation of authorization documentation and project correspondence required by transit authority clients, including letters, memoranda, and board-level reporting materials.
- You’ll prepare and maintain project budgets, schedules, and progress reports, ensuring alignment with contract requirements and client expectations.
- You’ll review the work of subconsultants and contractors and make recommendations on invoice approvals and payments.
- You’ll assist in administering construction contracts in compliance with applicable transit agency standards, regulations, and federal funding requirements (FTA, FHWA).
- You’ll track and manage cost and schedule performance, flagging variances and recommending corrective actions to the CM.
- You’ll prepare and issue monthly project construction status reports for client and Accenture leadership.
- You’ll review and make recommendations on contractor submittals and Requests for Information (RFIs), coordinating with design teams and agency staff as needed.
- You’ll monitor and coordinate project construction activities in the field, including site visits and field inspections across the project corridor.
- You’ll coordinate project close-out activities, including punch lists, as-built documentation, and lessons learned.
- You’ll evaluate and make recommendations on scope changes and assist in preparing change orders for CM and client approval.
- You’ll conduct and coordinate briefings, presentations, and stakeholder meetings for transit agency clients, elected officials, and community representatives.
- You’ll interface with state and regional agencies—including VDOT, MDOT, DDOT, and local jurisdictions to obtain project approvals and permits.
- You’ll monitor, coordinate, and evaluate all key project activities to ensure optimum scope/configuration control, cost/schedule compliance, and quality assurance/control of project design, specifications, contracting strategies, and contractor performance to support claims avoidance and mitigation.
- You’ll support the training and mentorship of junior project staff and owner’s representative team members on project delivery best practices.

- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field OR an additional four (4) years of construction-related experience in lieu of degree.
