Transform technology into opportunity as a Network Engineer pe what’s next for mission‑critical government projects while shaping what’s next for your engineering career. GDIT is seeking a Network Engineer to help support the JSP ETM‑NG program at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA. Selected candidate will support Day‑Shift: Tuesday - Saturday. Due to the nature of work this role entails, telecommuting is not allowed and will require full‑time onsite support.

Responsibilities
  • Designs, plans, and builds communications networks.
  • Configure routers and switches, and firewalls for LAN and WAN systems and VPN concentrators with appropriate network engineering and communications protocols.
  • Coordinates LAN/WAN hardware/software improvements and/or enhancements.
  • Monitors the network utilizing industry leading technologies.
  • Provides innovative methods and technical solutions using the engineering design process.
  • Plans for implementation of enhancements.
  • Analyzes customer requirements and provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
  • Performs maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks.
  • Maintains network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability.
  • Coordinates the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.
  • Creates plans and configure systems for data communication networks.
  • Evaluates new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
  • Designs and builds the hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks.
  • Provides guidance and leadership to less‑experienced network personnel.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree. An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Experience: 2+ years of related experience.
  • Security clearance level: Active Top Secret required with ability to obtain SCI.
  • Certifications: Current IAT Level II certification required. In addition, candidate must possess a current Networking Certification to include Brocade, Cisco (CCNA/CCNP), Juniper (JNCIA/JNCIS/JNCIP), or Aruba.
  • Role requirements: Hands‑on experience/knowledge with Cisco, Juniper, Brocade, or Aruba networking systems required.
Compensation

The likely salary range for this position is $93,662 - $121,900. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
