The Opportunity
Do you enjoy contributing to a technical team while close working with stakeholders to produce technical outputs that demonstrate the optimal path forward for a customer? This is the role of a Radio Frequency (RF) Analysis Engineer who supports the customer each day, performing RF analyses to protect their operations around the globe and ensuring spectrum access to support the DoW’s mission at home and abroad.
ResponsibilitiesThe RF Analysis Engineer provides technical support to the DoW Electromagnetic Spectrum Enterprise Policy and Programs office in spectrum management, electromagnetic spectrum operations, 5G and FutureG technologies, and spectrum policy. Duties include supporting government meetings, technical working groups, and stakeholder engagements by preparing reports, presentations, and briefing materials; coordinating with DoW organizations, federal agencies, industry partners, and standards bodies to assess emerging technologies and spectrum‑sharing initiatives;
and delivering subject‑matter expertise and technical recommendations to support DoW spectrum modernization and electromagnetic spectrum superiority objectives.
Additionally, the engineer is responsible for validating input data, devising analysis methodology, ensuring the quality of technical outputs, and effectively communicating results. The engineer also assists the lead engineer in representing DoW interests in technical working groups with peers.
Qualifications- 5+ years of experience with Radio Frequency (RF) engineering
- 2+ years of experience conducting Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) analyses for federal spectrum‑dependent systems
- Knowledge of federal spectrum management, wireless communications systems, and federal spectrum‑dependent mission systems such as radio navigation and communications
- Knowledge of 4G and 5G RAN technologies, including the RF interfaces
- Ability to mentor junior engineers and perform quality assurance on technical execution
- Ability to present technical topics in high‑pressure situations and produce professional documentation
- Secret clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Science, Technology, or Mathematics
- Experience with ITU standardization (ITU‑T), radio communication (ITU‑R) sectors, and WRC processes
- Experience in MATLAB, Python, or programming languages that augment or enhance COTS RF simulation capabilities
- Experience using tools such as Systems Tool Kit (STK), Visualyse Professional, EDX Signal Pro, or iQLink
- Knowledge of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and RF protocols and propagation models
- Knowledge of NTIA and FCC processes related to DoW spectrum policy and strategy, including the NTIA Redbook Table of Allocations and regulatory framework
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Science, Technology, or Mathematics

CompensationProjected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $ (annualized USD). Additional benefits include health, life, disability, financial, and retirement benefits, paid leave, professional development, tuition assistance, work‑life programs, and dependent care. Full‑time employees working at least 20 hours per week are eligible for Booz Allen’s benefit programs.
