Systems Engineer
Electronic Warfare (EW) is a growing enterprise dedicated to protecting the warfighter and national security. The Electronic Warfare Division at Leidos (in Arlington, VA or San Diego, CA) is hiring a Senior Signal Processing Engineer.
Role OverviewAs an EW Senior Signal Processing Engineer, you will conduct research, design, and development of signal collection, processing, and dissemination systems. Your work will involve designing, developing, and analyzing systems for extracting information from signal sensors, leading technical teams, and participating in business development activities.
Responsibilities- Develop novel and advanced algorithms, performance simulations, and analytics using simulated and real data in both time-series and spectral domains.
- Serve as Technical Team Lead.
- Lead or support marketing and business development initiatives, including technical solutions for response to capture efforts (e.g., BAAs, RFPs).
- Participate in or lead lab-based and field testing.
- Lead and/or engage in multiple projects.
- Communicate results in briefings and written material to your team, the Customer, and management.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Secret clearance and the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Fluent with MATLAB, Linux, Mathematica, Python, Simulink, C/C++, Java, and related tools.
- Working knowledge of digital filtering, spectral estimation, detection and estimation theory, linear algebra, and stochastic processes.
- Demonstrated leadership of small multi-disciplinary technical teams and/or projects.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience working in EW, SIGINT, and/or radar fields as a technical leader.
- Doctoral degree.
- Business Development and Capture experience (e.g., proposals, white papers).
- Experience working in a Research and Development (R&D) environment.
Salary range: $180,000 – $270,000 for qualified candidates with an active clearance and the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance. The position requires onsite work in either Arlington, VA or San Diego, CA.
