Project Manager Level 2

Markon is seeking an experienced and motivated engineering professional to serve as a Project Manager Level 2 supporting design-focused initiatives within the Engineering Architecture Division (EAD), part of the Engineering and Construction Division (ECD) at Washington Headquarters Services (WHS). This role is based at the Pentagon and supports a wide portfolio of engineering and infrastructure design projects.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing engineering design expertise, including application of governing building codes and use of technical software, in support of engineering studies and facilities condition assessments, engineering problem solving, development of cost-effective alternative solutions, and preparation of technical specifications.
  • Supporting projects involving new construction, refurbishment of existing infrastructure, structural repairs, renovation of built-out spaces, and energy conservation initiatives.
  • Contributing to construction efforts across a wide range of facilities and systems, including commercial, industrial heating and cooling plants, office building systems and controls, horizontal infrastructure, service-level utilities, and building distribution systems.
  • Producing high-quality technical documentation, conceptual renderings, and visual presentations to support leadership decision-making and Request for Proposal (RFP) development.
  • Reviewing and providing comments on documents, plans, and specifications prepared by the Designer of Record.
  • Performing work both on-site in an office setting and in the field.
  • Working independently with minimal supervision while engaging with project stakeholders and collaborating effectively within a diverse team environment.
Qualifications

Required qualifications include:

  • US citizen with the ability to maintain a Public Trust Clearance.
  • Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in engineering/construction.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal and written technical communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and engineering problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver effective customer and client service.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Design experience supporting engineering or construction projects.
  • Prior experience working within the Pentagon.
  • Professional registration (EIT or Professional Engineer).
  • Proficiency with engineering and design tools, including CAD and BIM software, Specs Intact, GIS, visual rendering tools, and Adobe Photoshop.
  • Familiarity with Agile or hybrid project management methodologies.
  • Knowledge of DoD standards, including Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC).
  • Experience supporting Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF).
Salary Range

USD $ - USD $ /Yr. The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
