Air Force Encroachment and Mission Sustainment Program Support
Tetra Tech is seeking candidates to support the Air Force Encroachment and Mission Sustainment Program in the National Capital Region. The role involves providing technical support and strategic communications to promote the Department of the Air Force’s Encroachment and Mission Sustainment Program.
Responsibilities- Plan and develop deliverables in compliance with Department of Defense (DoD), federal, state, and local statutes, regulations, and policies.
- Conduct site visits as required to address encroachment or compatible energy siting challenges between DAF installations, state or local governments, and non-DoD agencies.
- Liaise with key stakeholders, including the DoD Siting Clearinghouse.
- Support DAF actions related to compatible energy siting decisions, land use planning, and airspace management.
- Develop new DAF policy and guidance, and update existing documentation related to encroachment management and mission sustainment.
- Provide strategic communications via newsletters, web content, and best practices briefings.
- Provide planning and logistical support for an annual training event for DAF stakeholders.
- Participate in DAF subject matter workgroup meetings, including agenda development and providing meeting minutes.
- Maintain risk and hazard reporting tracking tools using the Mission Compatibility Analysis Tool (MCAT) and report to DAF client.
- Support routine and annual data calls associated with the program.
- Support conferences such as Association of Defense Communities (ADC) events and training workshops.
- Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, planning, public policy, or related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience supporting DoD or Air Force encroachment management.
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed, approximately 10–25%.
- Capability of obtaining a DoD security clearance of “Secret” or ability to obtain a security clearance if required.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical material, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Experience managing encroachment and restrictions related to airspace, land, water, air quality, and natural/cultural resources.
- Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen due to the projects they will be working on.
- Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing and editing.
- Proven ability to produce high‑quality reports and presentations for senior DoD and community officials.
- Strong skills in preparing and presenting planning reports and project documentation.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
