Senior Manager Interconnection

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end interconnection process for utility-scale solar and energy storage projects within PJM and utility service territories.
• Prepare, coordinate, and submit interconnection applications with PJM and local utilities.
• Serve as the primary point of contact with utilities, PJM, consultants, and internal stakeholders throughout the interconnection lifecycle.
• Review utility and transmission studies and lead negotiations toward execution of Generator Interconnection Agreements (GIAs).
• Manage interconnection schedules, milestones, and consultant deliverables to ensure timely project progression.
• Evaluate transmission systems and identify opportunities for new project development.
• Monitor transmission upgrades, queue activity, and grid expansion plans to support development strategy.
• Support M&A activities by performing interconnection due diligence and providing preliminary cost assessments.
• Assist development teams with preliminary project layouts using AutoCAD and PVCase where applicable.
• Collaborate closely with Development, Engineering, Real Estate, GIS, EPC, and Executive Leadership teams on project execution.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline required;
  Master's degree preferred.
• 5–10+ years of experience in utility-scale renewable energy interconnection or power systems engineering.
• Demonstrated experience managing PJM interconnection applications from initiation through executed agreements.
• Strong understanding of PJM tariffs, transmission planning, utility studies, queue management, and interconnection regulations.
• Experience coordinating engineering consultants and cross-functional project teams.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, PVCase, or similar design software is preferred.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Utility-scale solar experience is required; battery energy storage (BESS) experience is highly desirable.
