Job Summary
Chloeta is hiring a Mechanical Engineer to provide professional engineering services in support of federal facilities and infrastructure projects. This role supports a wide range of architectural and engineering (A/E) services, including planning, design, construction administration, inspection, and technical analysis for new construction, renovations, and modernization of federal facilities. The Mechanical Engineer works as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver compliant, efficient, and sustainable mechanical systems that meet federal and agency‑specific requirements.

Duties/Responsibilities- Support site and facilities projects including design for water and sewage systems, HVAC systems, fire suppression systems, pumps, wells, and other applicable systems.
- Designs/Documentation services including site specific energy sources, energy conservation, energy modeling/sustainability requirements, heating and ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, fire protection, special mechanical systems, alarms, process systems, and general space requirements.
- Conduct facility assessments and condition evaluations of existing mechanical systems to support renovations, upgrades, and deferred maintenance projects.
- Coordinate closely with architectural, civil, electrical, structural, and environmental disciplines to ensure integrated system design.
- Assist with environmental studies and permitting coordination as applicable to mechanical systems.
- Demonstrated experience designing mechanical systems for commercial, institutional, or industrial facilities.
- Knowledge of federal design standards, energy mandates, and building codes applicable to mechanical systems.
- Proficiency with engineering and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, HVAC load calculation and energy modeling tools).
- Experience supporting federal agencies.
- Familiarity with construction administration and field inspection on federal projects.
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
- Required: At least two (2) years of professional mechanical engineering experience.
- Required: Professional Engineer (PE) license in any of the following states:
Region 8-Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk for report preparation and computer work.
- Routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and GPS/GIS equipment.
- Travel to federal facilities and project sites may be required.
