Managing Consultant, Air Quality Compliance and Permitting (Chemical and/or Pharmaceutical Sector Focus)

As part of Ramboll’s Air Sciences Group in the Environment & Health Division, you will advise clients in the Chemical and/or Pharmaceutical sectors on air permitting, emissions estimation, regulatory enforcement, air dispersion modeling, human health risk assessment, climate action, and sustainability initiatives. You will manage consulting assignments, lead multidisciplinary teams, and mentor junior staff.
Your key responsibilities- Prepare air quality permit applications.
- Conduct air permitting and compliance regulatory reviews.
- Lead projects and train Consultant and Senior Consultant staff on complex assignments.
- Manage client relationships and deliverables, ensuring efficient delivery.
- Critically review and interpret local, state, and federal environmental regulations, draft applicability determinations, and communicate findings to clients and regulatory agencies.
- Conduct site visits.
- Maintain regular contact with clients and develop proposals for environmental compliance work.
- Prepare plans, reports, permit applications, and other project documents; lead technical evaluations of data.
- Manage technical, schedule, and budgetary elements of projects.
- 7+ years of experience in air quality permitting and compliance, primarily in the chemical and/or pharmaceutical sector.
- Proven history managing consulting assignments in a consulting environment.
- B.S. or M.S. in Chemical Engineering preferred; related degrees in Mechanical, Civil, Environmental Engineering, or other relevant science/engineering disciplines are also preferred.
- Strong ability to externally manage client and regulatory agency relationships and internally manage staff and competing project priorities.
- Experience training and utilizing junior consulting staff, leading teams on projects.

Anticipated base salary range: $116,000 – $158,000 per year
. Compensation may vary based on location, skills, experience, education, and internal equity. Eligible for bonus, overtime, or other forms of compensation. A comprehensive benefits package supports professional development and work‑life balance.
