GHT seeks a bright, motivated electrical design engineer with a BSEE degree from an ABET-accredited institution and 4+ years of directly related experience. 8+ years of directly related experience + active PE license strongly preferred.
Qualified Candidates- Demonstrated proficiency and experience in either:
- electrical design for mid-sized to large building design projects, including electrical load calculations using spreadsheets and standard software
- electrical design for commercial office building projects including utility coordination; electrical construction documentation preparation; and design of lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, standby electrical systems
- Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, schedules and software related to scoping of work: IBC, NEC, NFPA, IECC, etc.
- Ability to use drawings and understanding of existing systems to respond to permit, landlord, and architectural comments as well as third parties.
- Ability to conduct site surveys independently and create determine equipment locations/size, verify conditions, prepare drawings/sketches, edit specifications, and update as-builts for electrical discipline.
- Ability to work both independently and with teams, as well as leading and/or managing design (including inter-discipline coordination).
- Ability to QC own work and support QC efforts with own team and others.
- Experience supporting training of other staff.
- Strong organizational skills to accurately and efficiently complete work on multiple projects.
- Possess good verbal and written communication skills; responsive to team members and clients, and negotiate conflict.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and MS-Office.
- Ability to travel to job sites and conduct site visits (requires carrying equipment and exposure to heights).
- PREFERRED: familiar with LEED and other green standards.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without current OR future visa sponsorship. GHT participates in E-Verify.
- Must successfully complete pre-employment background check and drug test. Certain projects may have additional requirements.
